Kyle Wise Joins SHP

We're delighted to welcome Kyle Wise to Scott Hobbs Planning as a Graduate Planner.


Graduating from Heriot-Watt University in 2013, Kyle has gained a year’s experience towards his APC for becoming a Chartered Planner. Kyle has worked in a number of different areas within the development industry both as a planner and surveyor, with experience at planning consultants, commercial surveyors, a house builder and a local planning authority, working on projects in Scotland, England and Ireland.

He is also a successful snowboarder representing Great Britain in the discipline of snowboard cross, where he's the current English and Scottish Champion.

Kyle will add great value to the team with our ever increasing workload and complex projects.

Application success for mixed use development in Dublin

Dublin City Council has issued its notification to grant consent for the mixed use (retail / café) development on a brownfield site in Dublin, which was project-managed by SHP.

Appeal success for innovative residential development in Edinburgh

Planning permission is to be granted for an innovative residential development involving the conversion of a Grade B Listed former Victorian school building at 154 Mcdonald Road, subject to the completion of a legal agreement. The successful appeal was made to the DPEA against the non-determination of the application by the City of Edinburgh Council.

SHP submits applications for retail development for Grey Heron Developments

SHP has submitted two applications for mixed use / retail development comprising local retail store for Grey Heron Developments in Gretna and Laurencekirk, both of which seek to revitalise urban sites.

SHP revitalises its image

SHP has continued the development of its new image and has today launched a new website.  The launch of the website coincides with an exciting new phase in the growth of the business, following a number of new instructions in the energy consenting, retail, mixed use and planning strategy sectors. 

SHP expands its workforce

SHP is pleased to announce its recruitment of Grant Young as Planning Director. Grant joins us following a successful career at GVA where he specialised in energy consenting and managing complex large scale mixed use planning processes.

SHP assists with LDF submissions

SHP has assisted Scottish Enterprise with its responses to another two emerging Local Development Plans in Aberdeenshire and Fife.  

SHP drafted responses in consultation with representatives of Scottish Enterprise, allowing detailed responses to be finalised and submitted before each deadline.
